Spitzer 70 Micron Source Counts in Goods-north
We present ultradeep Spitzer 70mm observations of GOODS-North (Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey). For the first time, the turnover in the 70 mm Euclidean-normalized differential source counts is observed. We derive source counts down to a flux density of 1.2 mJy. From the measured source counts and fluctuation analysis, we estimate a power-law approximation of the faint 70 mm source coun...
متن کاملThe 24 Micron Source Counts in Deep Spitzer Space Telescope Surveys
Galaxy source counts in the infrared provide strong constraints on the evolution of the bolometric energy output from distant galaxy populations. We present the results from deep 24 m imaging from Spitzer surveys, which include 5 ;10 sources to an 80% completeness of ’60 Jy. The 24 m counts rapidly rise at near-Euclidean rates down to 5 mJy, increase with a super-Euclidean rate between 0.4 and ...
متن کاملSource Counts from the 15 μ m ISOCAM Deep Surveys ⋆
We present the results of the five mid-IR 15μm (12-18μm LW3 band) ISOCAM Guaranteed Time Extragalactic Surveys performed in the regions of the Lockman Hole and Marano Field. The roughly 1000 sources detected, 600 of which have a flux above the 80 % completeness limit, guarantee a very high statistical significance for the integral and differential source counts from 0.1mJy up to ∼5mJy. By addin...
متن کاملSpitzer 70-micron Confusion Level
Spitzer 70μm confusion measurements are presented based on ultra-deep MIPS-70μm observations of GOODS Hubble Deep Field North (HDFN). The instrument noise for the MIPS-70μm band integrates down with nearly t for the low background HDF-N field. The estimated confusion level is σc = 0.30± 0.15mJy for a limiting flux density of 1.5mJy (q = 5).
متن کاملWhat Do We Expect from Our Friends?∗
We conduct a field experiment in a large real-world social network to examine how subjects expect to be treated by their friends and by strangers who make allocation decisions in modified dictator games. While recipients’ beliefs accurately account for the extent to which friends will choose more generous allocations than strangers (i.e. directed altruism), recipients are not able to anticipate...
